Pros
Great for "empty-nesters"; mature responsible high schoolers; retirees; stay-at-home parents with school-aged children; anyone looking for flexible part-time or full-time hours who truly enjoys providing quality product and exceptional customer service. Any "upselling" is easy as product sells itself simply upon mention. No high pressure sales tactics expected of Crew Members. Easy to request time off. Management will work with employees regarding personal schedules and/or family matters such as child visitation (in the case of divorced parents); a second job position elsewhere; organized sports and other regularly scheduled extra curricular activities; medical appointments or conditions; willing to hire people on disability who can perform the work required, etc.
Cons
No employee discounts of any kind; must pay for your own police check and food handler's certification (which are both required in order to work there); all stores in London and surrounding area owned by the same individual; malfunctioning or broken store equipment and/or fixture go un-repaired for extended periods of time (if they're ever repaired at all) burdening store staff; preference shown to busier stores by owner for basic store needs, condition of store and, basic store equipment and supplies; no health or similar benefits available to Crew Members (not even if you offer to pay the required premiums); pays only the going minimum wage bi-weekly (although this is to be expected); weekly scheduling doesn't include end times for shifts, making it difficult to commit to or schedule any after work activities or events, or to commit to attendance at family functions etc (without having to always book the time off); sometimes work until midnight (so, not for those who don't like late nights); must wear a uniform (which you are required to pay for and provide certain elements of yourself at your expense) which is easily dirtied and requires frequent laundering and special treatment for oil and/or grease stains etc.; inconsistent employee and management training between stores (all owned by the same franchisee)
