Pros

People are nice. Nice office at WeWork.

Cons

- No strategy - no clue - Horrible culture: people come in late and leave early - nobody wants to work, just play startup in a cool coworking space - no deadlines - no KPIs or performance metrics - Incompetent people, way too junior - HR doesn't understand roles and hires only juniors - If you are looking for a chilled place where you don't want to work too much, that's the right place for you. But beware that their ICO money will eventually be gone soon.

The current strategy for the Lisk blockchain application platform is always available on our website, see: https://lisk.io/roadmap. Every objective on our roadmap is extensively researched by our team of researchers with proposed solutions published to our research forum (https://research.lisk.io) and on GitHub (https://github.com/LiskHQ/lips). Our office times are normal, from 9 am to 5 pm. We ask all employees to attend the morning stand-up at 09:30 am. No employee is routinely expected to work beyond their contracted hours. We actively encourage our employees to make the best use of their time, so that they can spend more time outside of work, living their life to the fullest. All work and no play, is not our mantra, but when we work, we do take it seriously. At Lisk we think differently. With the majority of the team being developers, we practise scrum, whereby all work is completed within the confines of fortnightly sprints, each with clearly stated goals and requirements, commonly agreed upon by the team itself. The team then defines by themselves when exactly work can be deemed as “done”, and regularly looks back retrospectively on what can be improved upon in future sprints. It is on this basis, that we ensure high productivity and measure team performance. Our team is highly competent. Our researchers all have PhDs. Our developers all have degrees or masters with at minimum, 5 years professional experience within enterprise or blockchain development. Recruitment is now largely handled by the heads of department and team members, not HR. We publish a monthly financial report on our blog: https://lisk.io/blog/tags/financial-update, where the numbers can speak for themselves.

Pros

- Super interesting work at the cutting edge of web3 - Awesome opportunity to work within the Ethereum / Optimism ecosystems - Company focuses on real world blockchain use cases that can make a huge impact in the underserved markets that they focus on in Africa and South East Asia (eg bringing DeFi to unbanked populations in Sub Saharan Africa) - Company works with some of the best and most well-known partners / protocols in the crypto ecosystem - Company is growing very fast and has some very ambitious but also achievable targets, and believes it can be the port of call for blockchain developers / founders in EMs - Very humble, nice and low ego team with a flat hierarchy. Genuine feeling that everyone is working together and all ideas are welcome and encouraged from everyone. Many are figuring things out for the first time and everyone is helpful / ecnouraging in thinking things through - Awesome travel opportunities in Africa and South Asia and other global conferences - Work from anaywhere as long as can cover core European (CET) hours - Respectful work-life balance and decent pay

Cons

- The fact the team is quite spread out geographically can make it harder to build internal relationships over video calls (one con of fully remote work). However, there are opportunities to meet team members in person at conferences and company organised meet-ups / events in cool locations (last company retreat was in Morocco) - L2s are a very competitive space and the company is still very much building up mindshare in the crypto community - There aren't many notable benefits / perks relative to other companies in this space

Pros

The team is full of potential and good talent. In the mixer of the L2 race to relevance in the web3 space. Handling lots of different tasks and wearing many hats. Can have impact in emerging markets and web3 uptake of tech.

Cons

Chaotic at times, lack of strategic focus. Managers in over their heads and young promoted into positions they don't have experience in. Culture changing for the worse...
