Pros
Decent pay and benefits. Most managers easy to work with.
Cons
Approximately seven years, Lincoln bought out the group protection department from liberty mutual. Workloads were through the roof and Lincoln did not have the technology to efficiently handle claims. For seven years case managers have been promised more manageable workloads. At one time the average caseload was between 225 cases and some case managers had 300 cases. Management said workload should be approximately 120 cases. That standard was never met. Now they have raised it to 170 cases, not counting cases that are submitted early (before the disability) by claimants. Additionally, every move of the mouse is monitored by a tracking system to measure productivity. Although case loads are still high, first level managers are daily, reminding case managers that upper management is looking at productivity and expect current day performance, even though the caseloads are still high. On the other hand, upper management is always sending out these hypocritical emails telling case managers how wonderful they are.
