Pros

Laid-back work environment with a CEO that really wants to see the staff thrive. It was a small team when I joined, so there was a lot of space to grow and build with the expanding company model. My coworkers were really friendly, and every Friday we'd have a team lunch, which I thought was cool. Lights allowed me to be really hands-on with the implementation of new product ideas and approaches which I enjoyed. I got the opportunity to take part in other aspects of the company I was interested in - from working with the product development team to styling photoshoots for seasonal campaigns and product launches.

Cons

The office's location was a little out of the way - depending on where you were coming from.

Pros

Most people who work here are young, but the ones that are allowed to stick around are either family or childhood friends with the owners.

Cons

1. Salary is not great compared to comparable positions in other companies. 2. Benefits are basically non-existent. 3. You're expected to work very long hours in a pretty remote part of Brooklyn and for very little reward. 4. The CEO hires only his friends and family, if you happen to be an outsider he will not take you seriously and micro-manage you incessantly since he thinks he knows better than everyone on any topic (finance, accounting, marketing, operations, design, etc.) 5. No differing opinions or any kind of disagreement with the owners are allowed. If you disagree with any decision they make you will likely be fired. 6. Within the past year they have fired at least 4 people before they ever hit the 5 month mark for no reason other than they are not friends or family of the owners.
