Pros
I was pretty happy at my previous company and was hesitant to make the switch to somewhere new, but I'm glad I did. Start-ups are often hectic as the company has to pivot and rotate to make ends meet, but not us. Although work at LifeBell is fast-paced, the mission and day-to-day work remains stable thanks to the fact that we are self-funded, have leaders with a proven track record behind us, and already have a pipeline of customers. In addition to the stability, the team is a pleasure to work with. We've grown quickly in the last 2 months, and every new hire has been someone you can be proud to work (virtually) beside. We have been deliberate in fostering a company culture that is casual, understanding, and welcoming, which altogether translate to an environment with high expectations yet low pressure.
Cons
This may be a con for some, and a pro for others. If you need hand-holding, then the startup life is not for you. A small company with big aspirations requires a team of individuals that take ownership of their work and can collaborate together. You need to be great at working independently AND with others.
