Pros
The benefits are good and that’s about it.
Cons
Before I started at Liberty Mutual I overlooked all the negative employee reviews thinking it’s impossible to make everyone happy and maybe some employees just became disgruntled. I quickly learned how accurate these negative reviews are. Let me start by saying if you’re okay with having a job where you are micromanaged to such an extent that you feel like you’re working at a modern day economic plantation, this job might be good for you. They literally keep you tied to your desk and you must use break time even if you want to just step away to use the restroom or grab a drink of water. The pay plan is structured so that you have to sell a huge amount of policies before even being able to hit a tier to start earning commission for that month. Management pretends to promote a very happy and healthy work culture, but really their just selling you a false reality and grooming you to think you’re about to step into a great work environment. The system Liberty Mutual uses is so very outdated to say the least. It’s ancient which makes the job that much harder. Constant glitches and errors. It feels like it’s running off of 2001 windows. If you should mention that you’d like to speak with HR about receiving an accommodation from a doctor so that you don’t have to use your limited break time to use the restroom, management will find an angle to get you fired so you don’t bring to light how they’re limiting your break time. The training itself is rushed and they do not prepare you for the fact that there is very little to no competitive edge to the company’s prices making it extremely difficult to actually sell policies. In closing, pay attention to these negative reviews because they are very much real and accurate.
