Pros

Remote work is the only pro

Cons

Level Data sets unrealistic expectations, promising great income to new sales hires, but the reality is far from it. The company struggles to close deals, bleeding resources as it cycles through salespeople in hopes of a quick fix. The problem isn’t the team—it’s a product that doesn’t sell and leadership that’s lost. Since Gary Fortier took over as CEO, the company has been in a downward spiral similar to his past failures at Ready Education, where you’ll find eerily similar reviews. Management lacks a clear vision and accountability, leading to constant chaos. Decision-making is driven by emotions rather than data, and there’s no transparency or honesty. Team calls are filled with arguments, and morale is low. Leadership’s behavior sets a poor example, with backdoor disagreements about Gary’s decisions. There’s no room for feedback or change because dissent is met with retaliation. The company operates with more C-Suite executives than necessary, and there’s no real direction or support. The “celebration station” on Slack is nothing more than a façade, where leadership is pressured to post positive messages to mask the internal dysfunction. HR is ineffective, staffed by Gary’s associates with little expertise in the field, further compounding the company’s problems. If you do join, be prepared to be treated like a number. Sales figures are misrepresented, favoring the company at every turn, and it’s evident that honesty is not a core value here. Customers and employees alike suffer due to the company’s disarray. Avoid this place; it’s only a matter of time before Level Data collapses.

Pros

Empowering mission to help educators and administrators in K12. Strong, collaborative culture where everyone is working together to make a bigger impact for our customers. Every part of the company is growing which creates tremendous learning and career opportunities. Lots of transparent communication so we know exactly how we are doing and what the opportunities are.

Cons

Rapid growth means a lot of change and constantly pushing yourself to learn and get better. Some people aren't wired that way. Totally remote/distributed work has lots of efficiency and lifestyle advantages, but it would be nice to have coffee or lunch with your colleagues more often.

Pros

Friendly peers. Unlimited PTO. Remote.

Cons

Customer turnover is high with incoming customers low. Customer relationships are suffering due to reduced headcount. Wasted budget going to the wrong teams. Customer requests all over the place with no real plan for how these should be tackled. Reorganizations happening every 4 months to try to solve issues when the real issue is there just isn't enough individual contributors and there are too many managers.
