Pros

Work from home, great benefits, salary is better than others in the industry, interesting work

Cons

They pride themselves on being a fast moving company, but there are constant changes to the point where you literally have to relearn your job every week. It is very difficult and stressful to spend time learning different processes only to throw it away and start over countless times. This causes a lot of confusion and the inconsistency causes frustration among staff members. They have a knee jerk reaction to anything that needs changing without fully thinking through things or asking the people who actually process the claims their opinion. You also have to use so many different apps and softwares to do you job, which are constantly malfunctioning and glitching. They used to be much more open to discussion and feedback when I first started, but after changing in leadership, I have seen first hand the backlash that occurs if you professionally disagree or have suggestions. It turns into a gaslighting situation where they make you end up feeling like it’s your problem or you are the one at fault. Which is mostly a problem because they preach transparency and that they truly care about your thoughts and opinions. They really want you to just shut up and go along with everything, which is what most people have been doing out of fear of retaliation. The lack of pay transparency is a huge issue and has been brought up countless times. Nothing has changed here. We never know if and when we may be getting a raise. The leads do not know either. In a workplace this feels unacceptable. There should be goals and standards in place. My biggest issue with this company is their lack of flexibility of working days and hours, despite being a primarily remote company. They will deny an ADA for any reason and their reasonable accommodation is a demotion to another job. Mental and physical health have been declining due to this. They act like they care about you but they truly do not. Which I guess is typical corporate behavior, but very discouraging and invalidating. Especially for people with chronic health and mental conditions. I do find my job interesting, the pay is decent, I enjoy working from home, and the benefits are good. But if I found a similar job with better working hours and flexibility, I would prefer this.

Pros

Great company/culture, great people, great exam support. Surrounded by the cream of the crop in the insurance and insurtech world. interesting and dynamic work. A nice bonus is you will learn how to code here, it's non negotiable.

Cons

No formal rotational programs. Work can get get overwhelming during exam season (maybe not a unique thing to this company). No bonuses, just equity.

Pros

When I started there it was amazing. Lots of flexibility, good pay, great benefits, and fantastic people to collaborate with. It was a real startup culture.

Cons

Once they started hiring old hats from entrenched and archaic insurance companies to be senior leaders the tone changed. Almost overnight it became just like the institutional insurance companies where you can be stabbed in the back at any moment and you’re only valued if senior leaders can see your work product. If you don’t have regular interactions with them or pat yourself on the back often you are as good as gone.
