Decision-making can be inconsistent, and communication from leadership is sometimes unclear. Team grouping and structure are not well-organized, which occasionally creates confusion around roles, responsibilities, and ownership. Advice to Management Strengthen project management processes by improving planning, requirement gathering, and documentation. Ensure clearer communication and alignment between leadership and team members. Improve team structuring and leadership practices to enhance accountability and collaboration. Investing in Team leadership training and standardized project workflows would significantly improve overall efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Working in the PMO provided broad exposure across multiple initiatives, stakeholders, and delivery models. Leadership generally values structure, visibility, and accountability, which gives the PMO a seat at the table for planning and reporting. The role allowed me to develop strong skills in governance, risk management, and cross-functional coordination. Teams are collaborative, and there’s a genuine willingness among project leads to engage with the PMO to drive outcomes. Good opportunity to learn and build resilience in a fast-paced environment.

PMO maturity varies across departments, which can make standardization challenging. Processes are sometimes reactive rather than proactive, and priorities can shift frequently without clear downstream alignment. Resource planning and capacity management could be more consistent, which occasionally puts pressure on delivery timelines. Decision-making can be slower when multiple layers of approval are involved.
