Pros
Some great 'grunt level' employees, who are under-appreciated and severely underpaid.
Cons
Incompetent mananagement, in particular the CEO and CFO / President. The CEO, is a smart man, a PhD, and a good scientist. But I believe his ego has gone to his head. He also has his hand in too many cookie jars. Pretty much all final decisions go through him and that bottlenecks productivity. The President is in the same boat in regards to having to make too many decisions on too many subjects. Once again, bottlenecking productivity and most of what she decides, she has to run through her husband anyway. They expect a lot out of you, which isn't unheard of, most corporations do. But they probably will ask you to have 5-6 very different responsibilities. That can be a lot to manage. Im my experience, I was asked to do just that. Often times being asked to do projects, sometimes for a week on end, only to be then told that the project isn't happening anymore. They act on a whim and it seems like they don't have a plan. I was trained on a particular responsibility, to eventually take over that responsibility completely from another employee, who again is way over-burdened with multiple responsibilities, only that never happened. Why? I have no clue. Just lack of planning, in my opinion, on management. Pay: I was told I would be getting a salary, which was about the bare minimum. Not many people could live off the salary alone in one of the most expensive areas to live in the world. Not without living in a dangerous neighborhood / commuting hours away (which many employees are forced to do) or with several housemates. The idea being that you would get quarterly bonuses and that would motivate you to work hard. I never got a plan for my bonus structure nor was I told how much my 'bonus' would be, if at all. I feel like ultimately, I wasn't set up for success there and my motivation suffered. Ultimately some of the work I did as well. I dreaded going to work. Not a positive work environment. A lot of disgruntled employees, which in my opinion, has been fostered by poor management. It's a very closed minded and old-fashioned way of working and not a company I would recommend to anyone unless they were really desperate.
