Pros
Autonomy : Lack of definition of specific task pushing the employees to exercise considerable initiative in their work... Feeling of autonomy and involment. Pay somewhat higher than average wages in similar business.
Cons
That lack of definition of job task allows Simons management to manipulate and exploit their employees as they wish. Expect to work more hours than you'll be paid for. Expect no recovery of additional time. Expect no vocational training. Expect no positive feedback (even sometimes threats) from management making sure to destroy employee self-esteem and self-confidence in the process in order to acquire more control over employees. Expect to be isolated from coworkers (no group reunion, no team work) and be put in the position of competiton at work with your colleagues. Expect dictatorial management of labor relations. Expect no career path in this business since promotion is mostly based on proximity of individuals with members of senior management rather than on experience, training and professional skills. The human resources department is inefficient, unprofessional and purely in the interests of senior management: A workers union would be necessary to protect the employees from the executive. Do not be convinced by the supposed respect and family values of that company! Actions speak louder than words.
