Pros

Decent pay, a few good people trying to make do.

Cons

Poor management. Decisions are made top down with little to no consolation or consideration of the people they will affect. Vast majority of management staff lack lab experience but are the ones writing policies. Unethical and unsafe practices that potentially invalidate results, put the company at risk for lawsuits, and leave employees with numerous safety risks. I’m not sure how auditing went after I left, but my hope is a considerable amount of the unjust practices were brought to light. Nepotism. Everyone is connected in some way. This can make transparency difficult when relations are tied together. Retaliation to concerned employees. The best way to make it at Lux Diagnostics is to keep your head down and say yes to everything. Everyone I interacted with was afraid of management. It’s a company that leads with fear. Volatility. To be expected from a start-up, however combined with everything stated above, the lack of consistency leads to vague direction and more opportunities to fail as goal posts are consistently changed.

Pros

It's a small company with a family atmosphere. You are included in decisions and you are treated like your opinions matter. Jabari is a great manager!

Cons

The business slowed quite a bit after the COVID-19 samples died off.

Pros

Devotion and consistency mean nothing. Great opportunity for bonuses if they're desperate. If you know you know.

Cons

I spent years here, loved the people, loved management. Which makes me an outsider on this platform. I worked diligently. It's true lay offs are common here - they bulk hire and fire. They used me in multiple departments, sometimes up to 18 hr days during COVID. I would drive home from an 8 hr shift and when I would arrive home they would call me back due to short-staffing. Multiple times they broke the law. I'm surprised no former employees brought it up thus far on this platform. Again, if you know you know.
