Pros

The people at LPC are incredible, it's a really young and fun atmosphere. Monthly socials that are funded based on performance, always a laugh and everyone was incredibly supportive.

Cons

Micromanaging hell. No remote working for lower employees (managers can though!). Worst of all... the Conduct system. Make a mistake and it goes on record, reviewed monthly, with the potential to be shadowed if you have too many for an unknown period. Misspelled a name? Conduct. Minor mistake made after processing over a hundred cases in a day? Conduct. Processed a hundred cases in a day? That's about the level you should be at. Also there's very little room for advancement internally. As an admin clerk you can go to Diary clerks potentially, but there's very little scope for much farther advancement.

Pros

Good experience, no better way to sharpen your advocacy skills. A lot of cases are interesting.

Cons

You never get any positive feedback, only negative which can be demotivating. Getting last minute papers for new and sometimes complex areas of law can be stressful, and you only get paid for the hearing not the prep time meaning your hourly rate can be very low.
