Pros
I enjoyed my time at LKQ. The people outside of the department are go getters, motivated, and really good to work with. Within the department, leadership is good but not very transparent until you start asking questions. It’s fast paced so I was able to learn a lot but I don’t think it’s easy when you come in new at this Point and are more so getting the job done. The new push is to do more with less, and that trails into accounting/finance/audit functions as well too.
Cons
Career growth. You are capped and told positions are unavailable. To move into the business is difficult if you want upward movement. Many people stay in their positions for long periods of time. Many positions if you want to rotate outside of your department require lots of travel 50-70% or relocation. If you want to rotate within Chicago it’s difficult as many positions are highly technical or are eventually moving to Nashville. Benefits are okay, but holidays are very few and the concept of work from home is frowned upon.
