Pros

The good thing is, people love working at Kroger. So they work there forever. Great work life balance, very relaxed work environment, you can basically choose to not work some weeks.

Cons

No one ever leaves, so moving up is impossible. They think inflation is a raise (2%) and they pay monthly. They also don't really grade you according to performance, but they try. The system at Kroger rewards those who just stay there the longest, not necessarily the best. Also the environment creates issues around accountability and owning technology related issues. It became so bad, they trained everyone on a book called "The Oz Principle"

Pros

Very welcoming environment to new hires. Clear efforts made to improve processes as the new store was finding its footing. Training was clear and wasn't thrown into the deep end before proper teaching. Great environment to work at overall with good pay for the work required. Flexible scheduling and very kind, understanding management!

Cons

Supply issues - needed a better system for ordering new items and restocking basic items. Usually only done by a manager, which meant if a manager wasn't on shift the issue may not be dealt with promptly. Frequently had to improvise with sizes/cups or take basic items off the menu (not just seasonal) due to missing syrups, powders, grounds, etc.

Cons

October-January the workload and store environment is overwhelming due to holidays Slowest time of year in the store is during the summer when its hot and days drag ob forever Lack of communication between dept as well as between store management MOD adds insurmountable tasks onto your already lengthy expected daily task assignments
