Pros
Fortunately, I had a great manager who despite her insane workload was always willing to provide guidance. New office space was a plus. Though there's a lot of cons, job security & benefits are good. Also, most people never took any work home- as soon as the clock struck 5, the office would be deserted.
Cons
With it being a private company things were always a little weird. During an assignment, I needed access to some hard data to tie productivity to financial decisions. Asking for any sort of financial data was met with hushed tones or you'd be sent down a never ending rabbit hole. Those I knew in other departments experienced similar pushback. You would be assigned tasks that you needed specific tools or information to do, yet nothing would be given to you or could be found. This made working here very frustrating. Overall, people were kind but the culture was wonky and cold. Felt like people didn't trust each other. There was more than one day where I came to the office and left at the end of the day without ever exchanging so much as a 'Hello' or 'Good morning' from anyone in the entire office.
