Pros
If you can survive this place as a woman, then you will be all the stronger for it and will never place yourself in a company like this ever again.
Cons
A contract facility that prides profit over anything. The culture is built upon greed, abuse, gas-lighting, good ol’ boy hierarchy, and green-lit misogyny. The upper management enjoys is playing with your psyche, emotions, and self-worth. Sometimes they will give you projects that “they” knew about weeks in advance and only tell you a few days before results are needed. Other times, they will expect results for a project that you didn’t even know was on your schedule and make you question your own potential as an employee. Rather than working with people to shape constructive, confident, and efficient employees, they prey upon weakness. If you don’t fit into that exact box they are looking for, they threaten you with suspension without pay, demotion, or termination. Do not believe for one second that they will not follow through with these threats. Women under thirty have been driven from the engineering department entirely either by being “let go” or because they have been the targets of abuse, hazing, or sexual harassment. Women, especially women of color, are not safe at this facility--whether they be in an office job or out on the lines. It is a wonder facilities like this have gone without major, public lawsuits for this long. It is only a matter of time before someone whistleblows.
