The company produces an incredibly powerful tool that serves a desperately underserved and misunderstood community - addiction recovery. The passion among the sales and customer service teams is huge and drives the company’s success, and is the one area that maintains high morale. Customer service is the best in the business. Client happiness is among the highest in the industry.
Cons
I’ve never experienced a level of toxicity as I did at Kipu. The environment is the opposite of collaborative, led by fear and threats and constantly being told you are inept and incapable of doing your job. Leadership always finds problems and never provides guidance for improvement and prefers to put people down to maintain their power over everyone. There is no trust among the organization. Leadership wants people to execute on their ideas, and are not interested anything else. They run the organization like a sweatshop. You are expected to work long hours, be in the office early and leave late. Be prepared to NOT have sick time accrual and to fight for your earned vacation days. And if you’re caring for young children or the elderly, you won’t have the flexibility to tend to them in emergencies without having to take vacation time. You belong to them. They don't practice what they preach to their clients. At all.
