Like just about all jobs in childcare, the pay isn't great, you really don't have any upward mobility unless you become a Center Director down the road (not likely from the kitchen), you're always surrounded by sick kids, half of them are feral and you have absolutely nothing you can use to get them to listen to you other than your hopes that eventually they'll wear out and give in, because you can't even put them in timeout for a few minutes.
