Fun culture, terrible benefits - Anonymous employee Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Employee Review

Pros

The culture at Kimpton is amazing. It's a growing company so there's lots of room to grow within and they like to hire from within.

Cons

11 days a year of PTO is atrocious. Kimpton pretends to be a progressive company but it squeezes all the life out of it's employees. The employee rate benefit they promote is basically non-existent. If you're thinking of working for Kimpton hotels because you like their hotels, move along. You will not have enough time off or a decent enough salary to go on vacation, and you will never find an employee rate available.

We’ve been working on ways to make the employee rate easier to navigate and really appreciate your patience on that process. In terms of PTO, that will vary depending on your time and position with us. Work/life balance is important and if you’d like, your local People & Culture team can chat further about your schedule. We don’t want you to burn out! Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts.

Pros

Boutique, sleek and stylish hotel group for hospitality professionals that want to explore finer dining without the intensity.

Cons

Long hours, carpal tunnel syndrome, potential breakfast shifts, inescapable conversations with hotel guests.
