Pros
- There's hardly a day that goes by slow because you always have more work on your plate than you can complete. - The benefits are outstanding but leadership needs to realize it takes more than that to retain employees. - Some of the projects they build are the coolest things you'll get to see. People out in the field take a lot of pride in their work and the end results really show. - I'd find it hard to believe there's another company in this industry that is as dedicated to training as Kiewit. Great training facility and facilitators.
Cons
- They say pay is near average but I'd say it's even a little lower than that. They'll try to sell you on the idea that it's worth it in the long run because of their stock but there's no guarantees that you'll be around that long to see those benefits. - WORK-LIFE BALANCE (60 hour weeks are the new 40). The CEO say's he wants to improve the company's work-life but no effective steps are taken to improve it. I realize work-life balance is different from person to person but their survey results clearly shows drastic changes should be made. - If you are worried about moving from project to project this probably is not the company for you. Not everyone has to move all over the country, it just kind of depends on your district. I always hated people that complained about this because you should know what you’re getting into. This is a giant construction company with projects all over North America. - If you work in the corporate office be prepared to be told you're just headcount. That's always motivating. - EVERY little task or process in the company must be approved by management.
