Pros

Nothing good to say about them

Cons

The Truth About Kids Co. It’s Not What They Want You to Think I worked at Kids Co. and I’m speaking up because parents and the public deserve to know the truth. My experience behind the scenes was nothing short of disturbing. This company is not here to serve families. They are here for profit, plain and simple. From the day I started, I saw things that didn’t sit right with me. The CEO and upper management treated staff like we were disposable. They talked down to us, dismissed concerns, and made it clear that we were there to follow orders, not to care or advocate for the kids or parents. It was a toxic culture built on control and intimidation, not collaboration or compassion. What really opened my eyes was how they operated the programs. It looked good on paper, but behind the scenes it was all smoke and mirrors. There were constant inside deals, corner-cutting, and manipulations of the system just to squeeze money out of government-funded programs. They used enrollment numbers and paperwork to get funding, but the quality of care and education kids received was poor at best. I witnessed discrimination firsthand. Families were treated differently based on race, income level, or whether they were seen as easy to deal with. Certain families were prioritized while others were ignored or pushed out quietly. Some staff raised concerns and were punished for it, written up, silenced, or forced to quit. There was no long-term investment in the children. No real effort to support their growth or give parents peace of mind. Everything was short-term, transactional, and profit-driven. I tried to do my job with integrity, but it became impossible in an environment where leadership only cared about appearances and money. It got to a point where I felt sick showing up every day, knowing I was part of something that was hurting families instead of helping them. I left because I couldn’t stay silent anymore. In my opinion, Kids Co. should not be allowed to operate in Montgomery County Public Schools or anywhere that claims to put children and families first. Their practices are unethical, discriminatory, and potentially illegal. If an investigation were opened, I have no doubt that multiple violations, especially related to misuse of funds, discrimination, and staff retaliation, would come to light. This company is not built to last. You cannot build something sustainable when your foundation is exploitation. Parents deserve better. Staff deserve better. And our community deserves better. Let me know if you want to add names, incidents, or make it even more direct for legal or media use.
