Real commitment to inclusion. Casual, fun environment. Makes a visible impact on the city.
Cons
There are a lot of very young staff working at their first job and learning how to be “at work.” Requires a lot of patience when coworkers are easily distracted by non-work matters.
Opportunities to learn hard skills, work with like minded individuals, plenty of PTO, hybrid work schedule
Cons
Low pay/pay inequity between upper management and lower management. Rules are unequally applied across the organization based on personal preference. Upper management shows blatant disrespect for programs staff and micromanages them. Employees who are favored by management are given special treatment while others are pushed out. Management vocally wonders why the employee turnover rate is so high, and yet refuses to make any changes or acknowledge the low pay.
