Pros

Excellent benefits package Excellent pay

Cons

* 2 large layoffs in less than a year, and after each layoff there were promises that everything is fine and the company has plenty of "run way" to right it's course. It is not fine. The headwinds against STRs are strong and Kasa appears completely unprepared to manage them. People are actively job searching to escape the sinking ship. * Additionally there are a lot of egos at the managerial level. Individuals placed in management positions because they are good at their jobs, not because they are good at managing people. Many managers are young with little to no experience in managing people and they lack the perspective and maturity to emotionally connect with others that may not share the same lived experience or values as them. This creates an atmosphere of fear and shame. * There was an entire 10 minute conversation during an all-hands meeting, which is attended by every person in the company from maintenance techs to the C-suites executives, about which Ivy League school certain VPs attended and which one is better. It was elitist and out-of-touch with the fact Kasa is a company that makes beds and cleans toilets. * There is not a clear path of growth for those who start in entry-level positions in operations. *High turnover at the entry-level operations positions

Pros

Great company, excellent benefits good people to work with. Very motivated people. Good opportunities for advancement if you work hard.

Cons

Can be a lot of work as it is a start up type of environment with lots of expansion. Totally manageable though.

Pros

Remote work, most colleagues are cool

Cons

Like most companies, Kasa seems like a "fast-paced environment," but it's largely just barely organized chaos. We hop from one crisis to another with no time to regroup. The company goes from periods of "we made it!" to freefall multiple times a year. We recently absorbed a competitor and that was nothing short of chaotic. Absorbed employees never knew if they were safe, one person was assigned to a new team and new manager, given projects and a roadmap, and 24 hours later she was terminated. Senior leadership all have degrees from fancy schools but have no real clue of the problems faced by entry level. I've heard "just fix it" so many times over the years, but each time we "Just fix it" someone is extremely unhappy about how it was fixed. No real growth or significant conversation, just more responsibility disguised as promotions.
