Pros

Flexible hours depending on nature of work. Location is convenient i.e near a shopping mall. Gym membership is good but if you are in audit, you may just use the gym membership for the shower facilities for late night shifts. Less so for other departments e.g Advisory

Cons

If you are in audit, be prepared to work longer hours compared to competitors - staff turnover is over the roof as a result of this. Competition is fierce by virtue of high staff volume and they are willing to say or do a lot of things to move up the ladder. Low to zero support from management in terms of morale and guidance especially if your superior is swamped with multiple engagements (some are just plain incapable though). A lot of politics going around across all functions. The Advisory functions are not as competitive as their competitors and their revenue model is the same as Audit - take in any clients as long as targets are met.

Pros

It might sound cliche but the Pro for me is the people that I work with. I'm lucky enough to be staffed in a team with great leadership. Managers are actually willing to coach junior members and be a real mentor. I very much appreciate their efforts.

Cons

Long hours and office politics. This is pretty basic and obvious for any public accounting firms. Every time a quarter end, year end, or a special filing is going out, you can expect 10-14 hour days. It might be fine in your early career but it gets really tiring after a few years.
