Pros
Fun loving atmosphere and standard/average PTO, benefits, and 401k. Great place to get your foot in the door towards a more serious career and build some experience for your resume.
Cons
No real growth opportunities, titles stagmented for the sake of appearances and increased employee expectations/responsibilities with no salary increase. No HR or people in power that vouch for the needs of support staff nor protect them from unfair treatment or abuse by sometimes overly aggressive brokers. Lots of bullying and fear tactics to drive support team to work harder. No pay for over time. No instruction or training - mostly relying on peers for guidance when starting. New marketing methods are deployed haphazardly at the cost of support staff’s time and credibility. Favoritism towards support staff who show interest in transitioning in to brokership with the company. More naive support staff and junior brokers taken advantage of on the promise of title, office space, and pay increases that are scapegoated for years by management to deter demands for better pay or hours. Growing company pitches faster turn over times for marketing projects to recruit new brokers. Support staff is only important as an aspect of production but not valued as a body of people deserving of suitable wages or life/work balance for achieving personal goals outside work environment.
