Hello, and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. One of our core values is “respect constructive feedback” for our entire team no matter their role. This is why this response is not listing out “why your points are wrong”, but rather helping to provide a different perspective and resources as a valued member of our team. We not only support employee feedback on their experience with our Clinical Supervisors (BCBAs), but encourage it through Clinical Supervisor performance surveys (sent out at least once every six months per Clinical Supervisor), during stay interviews, and as needed by the center’s Clinical Director. As it looks like you are currently part of our team, we highly encourage you to utilize one of these avenues to address any concerns you have.
Another platform you can use is submitting a Human Resources question, comment, or concern through your Paychex Flex portal. If you have questions regarding the benefits offered to you, like unpaid time off, please reach out. All employees are provided Unpaid Time Off (UTO) in a front-loaded UTO Bank at an annual allowance of eighty (80) hours in addition to Paid Time Off (PTO), Bonus PTO, Personal Leave of Absence, and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave.
We do take our attendance policy seriously as it is essential to have consistency as a team and consistency in providing essential services to our learners. It is very common for employers to have an attendance policy however, not many offer bonus Paid Time Off (PTO) as a benefit to their policy like ours does. We strive to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for all children and our team, while minimizing unnecessary absences which negatively impact learner progress and staff morale. Requiring supporting documentation like a doctor’s note is not intended to punish individuals who are sick or don’t have health insurance, rather it's to hold staff accountable and is also common practice. We are proud to offer our full-time staff three subsidized health insurance coverage options and have several in-house and contracted resources to support our team in choosing and utilizing the coverage that works best for them.
We have thorough learner and staff illness policies in addition to our infectious disease response plan. In general, visual symptoms and/or a physician diagnosis will provide guidance on whether a child may attend or must stay home. We must consider all factors for every situation including if the symptoms are accounted for by another condition as many of our learners have varying medical diagnoses.
