Pros
Cool space to innovate in, great branding, massive market to serve.
Cons
The CEO once asked one of my colleagues privately whether I was “worth the money,” then later called me to ask if that same colleague was “worth the money.” That situation summed up what day to day life was like in this company: unprofessional and undermining.
After working my way up, I was told how valuable I was and that there was a big future ahead for me and the business. I was then asked to give input on hiring for a new position that was described as "adjacent" to mine. I contributed in good faith throughout the process.
Not long after, the CEO I had worked with for a long time began ignoring me during team calls, asking everyone how their weekend was except me, and refusing to join our weekly calls without explanation.
I later checked LinkedIn and discovered that I had actually helped hire my replacement.
That replacement — the person I had helped hire — was then asked to fire me.
A few months later, someone reached out via linkedin to say the company had done the exact same thing to them. One day you are part of the team and fully integrated, the next you are cut out with no explanation.
There are talented people working there, but the leadership culture is toxic and manipulative.
