Pros
- Good Mission to work towards. In fact, one of the few "Mission Oriented" startups of India. - Perfect Founding Team. Complement each other's skillsets(but it is a con too). - Might teach you a lot of things if you make the most out of the opportunities you get
Cons
- The biggest advantage that these people had was that they were early in the YouTube space. But due to no re-invention, they have not been able to make it big even after 10 years. They tried various weird businesses like UPSC but it didn't really stand true to what It meant. The lust for views degraded content quality, - Favouritism was the biggest enemy of this organisation. Till one point, things were fine, but after their 2020 funding round, things started getting into the head of founders. - Extending to the above, a lot of department "heads" were promoted to lead the divisions that these people were a part of. Even as an outsider, I could see the Cold War and politics amongst older employees who couldn't get to the promotion that they wanted vs those who got promoted to heads. - In most divisions, everyone pretended to be happy, but no one was fully satisfied. There was discrimination based on person's background as well. They have a internal "Rich boys club" where the ones with good family background were the ones who got pushed, and the ones who came from humble backgrounds were denied the rightful opportunity, no matter how hard they worked. - The use of terms like patriotism, we'll build this nation, etc has been used to manipulate people to do weird work.
