Pros

They pay money (not a lot)

Cons

Where to start? There is mismanagement at almost every level of this organization. Medial tasks are constantly being assigned to "check boxes" for upper management. This would be great if you were not trying to make a living through commission. The culture here is nothing short of toxic. No one I encountered enjoyed being at the organization. A ton of stress for very little pay. They constantly threaten your job (even if you are a high performer), and do not value you as a person...you are just a number. To boot, the minute the pandemic hit, they laid off a significant portion of the salaried work force (retraining and rehiring are very expensive for organizations). While most orgs were doing anything they could to retain talent, JCI hit the panic button and likely will be rehiring in 2021. Do not work here if at all possible. Doing my part and warning here.

Pros

Decent base pay and fast paced work makes the days go by quickly. Lately the company has been actually investing in their new product lines ever since Joakim became our CEO.

Cons

The compensation is lacking. No bonuses whatsoever for senior level engineers even when they're recognized as a key contributor on the team. We are given our 401k match on March 1st to cover the previous year's matches so you lose out on a lot of the year's market gains. The healthcare coverage is mediocre at best for a fortune 500 company. The raises are still given like it's 2018; 3% is considered a "good" merit increase. This is due to the "forced distribution" merit increase system where only "so many" people can receives "above expectations" raises.
