Pros

The work matters. Aviation software that reaches pilots in the cockpit is not a trivial problem space, and the engineers, product managers, QA, and data teams building it bring an uncompromised love of aviation and a deep commitment to the safety of flight. The domain expertise inside this company is deep, and if you're early in your career in aviation tech, you will learn things here you can't learn anywhere else. Compensation was competitive, and a few of the remaining leaders are strong advocates for their teams.

Cons

Since the private equity acquisition, the priority structure has shifted visibly. The emphasis on commercial customer relationships has lessened, and the company appears to be optimizing for cost reduction over subject-matter expertise. That's a meaningful change in a domain where customer trust is built slowly and lost quickly.

Pros

Have a good portfolio of products to sell.

Cons

Jeppesen was a good company under Boeing. Once there was the sale of Jeppesen and when combined with Foreflight, things went downhill very fast. The CEO, Surak brought in his "yes" people that would agree to all his ideas that were not aligned with the high integrity that was once part of Jeppesen. Quality issues started arising. People who knew how to conduct business and build trust with the customers were let go and replaced with new folks who had absolutely no idea how to lead, manage and inspire the workforce. With the appointment Chief Commercial Officer, the morale did a nose-dive. His behavior and demeaning attitude was disheartening to the teams. No sales background and a "my way only" has crushed the people who worked years to make the company it once was. Very sad to see this and his appointment.
