Fully remote culture resulted in some gaps in communication

Great environment, my coworker was always willing to help and support me in case of an emergency. There was always the opportunity to work on new projects and collaborate with the Team.

The way Software is delivered might not be the best option. Lack of interest in scale software architecture. The codebase has grown so much that is very difficult to add or create new features. There is not a very clear order of priorities. There are always a lot of features or enhancements in the backlog with urgency. But not a very clear purpose of why it needs to be done and how is going to impact the business. Slack messages late at night or sometimes even at 2 am on Sundays. The code that I wrote, like (type guards or utility functions) was deleted by the engineer manager for no reason or explanation. Not a lot of room to write quality code, because of the tide timelines or the use of new technologies. The engineering manager is a very diligent person and always willing to help but he is not very updated with the latest technologies or good coding practices so lots of bugs go to production.
