Cons
- Underpaid for industry standard for all positions - Salaried Managers are frequently expected to do more work than is possible to fit into 44 hours, so expect to work a lot of extra time for free - Company operates on a “customer is always right” mentality, so even if someone comes into your store screaming and swearing at you, you are expected to bend over backwards to accommodate them, and if you tell a customer no for something in our policies, you will get reprimanded for doing so. The policies exist but you are expected to break them anytime for customer satisfaction. - Company keeps people around by dangling the carrot on promotions, but doesn’t compensate appropriately in those positions, and will frequently decide “we’re going in a different direction” after they bait you with a promotion to get you to stay with JYSK, or work harder and take on extra responsibilities, again with no compensation increase. - Employees can be the victim of Harassment and Bullying and Human Resources won’t even tell you, and if you are lucky to find out elsewhere, they will still deny it and give you no information, because they are more concerned with their corporate image and the accusations being thrown at their Head Office/District Managers that they will sweep what is being said about you under the rug to protect them. - I cannot recommend running away from this place more, I worked here for over 5 years and it was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made in my entire career.
