Pros
There are some nice, truly kind people who work there. (They will be treated like absolute garbage, or will be able to just let it slide, or, they will be pushed out whenever the leadership decides.) It's way too expensive, but the food is good. You get a fairly lousy employee discount to use on retail, but it's something. Sometimes the employee cafe is good and you do get free meals (not breakfast), although you only get one plate or risk the shame of having to go back through the recently installed electric turnstyle. The hotel itself is pretty. Does it warrant the expense? Absolutely not. But it's pretty and overall you are surrounded by nice things.
Cons
Where to begin. -Leadership does not care about you. Let me repeat. They don't. Because they are told not to care about you. They are told to tell everyone that this property is the best and everyone should be grateful to be employed there. You will hear this a lot. You will wonder if you're crazy. You're not. You will look at your check and wonder when will the $$ equate with all this luxury surrounding you! -You will be told you are being heard by People and Culture. Oh, you've been heard, but nothing will happen. If it does happen, it's not in your favor. -If you are a woman or a person of color, your opinion will be considered less valuable than a man's. This is not everyone in leadership, but it is for sure the main ones who leads opinion. -You will be tired, a lot. You will be dejected a lot. You will get an invitation to discuss your concerns that is ultimately either completely brushed off but the box will be checked off that your leader scheduled that meeting. -If you just like to get a simple thank you for going above and beyond, you won't :)
