Pros
- looks great on your CV - endless working opportunities within the brand, across the globe - employee discounts - Marriott culture and values (if respected) are thoughtful and respectful towards the employees
Cons
- some of the lowest salaries on the market - no training (though I must specify that this is very specific to the Bucharest JW, where training was promised but was never received. However, when I worked for another Marriott brand in another country, I received very thorough training) - the staff (including high management) was not proficient in basic software programs (such as MICROS Opera, Excel), not even in the internal software (MARSHA). Not much can be achieved with the bare minimum of knowledge. - a lot (a LOT) of extra hours as a beginner
