Pros

You get paid to do almost nothing because this place is so SLOW. There's absolutely no reason for the work to be so slow or teams so big...

Cons

Everything is old. The systems, the tech, the people, the culture... Managers pick favorites and are unfair. They need their ego stroked at all times. I have personally experienced microagressions and "jokes" for just asking questions and trying to be proactive. Managers want to be product owners, baby sitters, subject matter experts, tech leads, all in one. They do not trust you to do the work. Innovation is absolutely discouraged here. Everything is overly complicated for no reason. A lot of stop gap solutions that have been in place for decades. Zero reliable docuemntation. Projects that could be done in weeks or months take years here. This place is not agile at all. Meetings about meetings, everything lives in a million excel sheets, work that could be done by 1 person is split up and given to 10 people cause things are just so slow.

Pros

JM provides good opportunities for the range of professional corporate occupations available in South Florida.

Cons

Too much "get along, go along" culture which may be okay if one is planning to stay with JM through retirement, but is not helpful if one's career progression involves employment with other companies. As a rule, the best places I worked at encouraged creativity, systems thinking, adaptability, integrity, and trust. These values felt lacking during my six-month tenure at JM back in 2014.
