Pros

There are a lot of great opportunities for associates to do self-improvement through training, programs, etc. JM does not really ever turn a training opportunity or conference if it can be substantiated as a way to improve the company and you are in good standing. Mr. Moran created an fantastic and business model that has created significant barriers to entry in the market.

Cons

I've seen quite a few times where senior leaders will prevent associates from "moving up" due to personality conflicts as opposed to thinking of the business. It is a sad state of affairs that long time associates that have moved into senior positions make decisions based on protecting their position and authority in the business and not about improving the business. I've witnessed this numerous times over the past several years.

Pros

JM provides good opportunities for the range of professional corporate occupations available in South Florida.

Cons

Too much "get along, go along" culture which may be okay if one is planning to stay with JM through retirement, but is not helpful if one's career progression involves employment with other companies. As a rule, the best places I worked at encouraged creativity, systems thinking, adaptability, integrity, and trust. These values felt lacking during my six-month tenure at JM back in 2014.
