Pros

Throughout my internship at J. Mendel I was given a lot of responsibility each day. This ranged from keeping track of the samples, to preparing them for trunk shows. I was also given orders to go over, and various projects to work on as they came up. I was never bored or felt I was wasting my time as there was always something I could be doing. My supervisors were not only fun to work with, but fostered an educational environment. Questions are always welcomed, and everyday I continue to learn something new.

Cons

As the wholesale department is constantly meeting deadlines, this work environment is very fast paced. Everyday is not necessarily calm, but I personally preferred this.

Pros

This job was my favorite during my career in fashion. They gave me freedom to learn and grow and working with Mr. Mendel was amazing. I bounced from department to department until I found that I loved development so they created a position for me in fabric R&D and I wanted to help in production so they added a few more responsibilities there. Everything was on my own terms which was surprising for a brand like that

Cons

Very fast paced so not for everyone

Pros

The intern program at J. Mendel is in need of a serious revision from the 2 HR employees.

Cons

Internships here are a lot of promise without the deliver. The fellow interns are nice, but socializing with them regarding things outside of the company will get you in trouble. They often times take advantage of their interns, I came in early and stayed late more often than not. If you are dead set on working for this company, you are required to intern FOR FREE for an entire year before they will even consider you for a position. It wasn't worth the demanding schedule, rude employees, and strict work environment. There are so many Parisian luxury brands that can offer you an experience greater than scanning documents all day long.
