Pros

The people, despite all the pressure and the awful morale the support from the people you work with is great.

Cons

Under the previous CEO this used to be a great place to work but the past few years have been awful. The CEO is only interested in shareholders and their dividend and employees pay the price for this. During covid took full advantage of furlough scheme and forced managers not furloughed to take a 20% pay cut. Still managed to post good results and pay out dividend even if employees were struggling with financial implications of this. If you complained was offered redundancy but only Government minimum. No leadership, management too scared to challenge in case they get fired so just protecting their own backs. No training, no resources, no career progression, no investment in to infrastructure especially IT so open to attacks. Negligible pay progression so way below inflation, again if you complain you are told you know where the door is. Toxic culture, people terrified of losing their jobs.

Pros

Good group of people in local office.

Cons

Stuck in the past. Unwilling to consider updating methods or procedures. "We've done it this way for 30 years and it has worked." Sales relies upon project engineers to do most of their work for them. When volume of work is slow that becomes the engineers responsibility to go find new clients. Can't reliably pay the most basic of utility bills on time. I've seen the power cut off 2x and the gas this past winter.
