Navistar doesn't promote loyalty, knowledge retention, or the right people. - Anonymous employee International Employee Review

Pros

Navistar offers a rewarding experience and unique challenges. They encourage knowledge expansion and cross-training so its great for personal growth.

Cons

They are tending toward hiring upper management who are not familiar with the industry and are considered businessmen in their own right. This creates managers who don't respect the historical talent nor their employees' experience. Navistar has become highly politicized internally therefore the best ideas and methods rarely make it. They have recently let go a sizable portion of their knowledge-base and have moved operations to a higher cost area. They will be hiring inexperienced engineers fresh out of college and relying on them more than they should. I'd be wary about any long term plans with Navistar.
