Pros
Pay is the only pro and the pay is sub par for the chaos employees are subjected to.
Cons
Benefits are miserable, uniform is not functional, footwear is plastic. Recruiters push anyone into the program. Supervisors do not communicate with each other. Management is riddled with poisonous nepotism and zero ability to manage efficiently. Be prepared for austere conditions for 12 consecutive hours on your feet. Austere to mean exposure to frigid cold and blistering heat with unsuitable cold weather gear and air conditioning units that do not work in the summer. No consistency of schedule. Promises of a security clearance that you may not even get because the company sits on your paper work. They avoid paying bonuses by keeping you from getting the clearance they promise to provide. Senior supervisors and management attempt to intimidate guards who seek to change this abhorrent work climate. Training is insufficient and not related to the work place. Very limited options for upward mobility. Some coworkers are lazy, yet given privileges that they wind up abusing. Company focuses on a group punishment mentality. Never expressly defines what para-military means to the organization but boasts being para-military.
