Awful Corporate Culture - Pricing Analyst Inter-Con Security Employee Review

Pros

It's a paycheck. Use this job as a stepping stone and get out as soon as you get enough experience to be more appealing to another employer.

Cons

This company does not value its employees. As a Pricing Analyst, be prepared for long hours and unannounced overtime. You will often be "asked" to work extended hours just before you are ready to leave for the day, and (mandatory) requests to come in on the weekend often come in late Friday afternoon. The job is one fast-paced, high stress deadline after the next with little to no warning. On top of that, you will be paid below market value with no room for growth. Only three employees that worked in this position, in the history of the company, have ever moved up. The rest have quit, or "moved on." This will be you. The company culture is also a complete joke. The recent adaptation "no tie Fridays" took years of petitioning. Even then, certain departments get away with wearing jeans, medical scrubs and are far from compliance with the dress code. Meanwhile, since pricing is a part of contracts, you'll be in close proximity to executive management and will live in fear of the CEO seeing what you're wearing or doing, because if he doesn't like it, he will mandate the a new company policy requiring a change. Those same departments that were ignoring the dress code before, will continue to do so after the new policy. Meanwhile, everything you do and wear will be scrutinized. If you enjoy constant, belittling criticism over everything you do and no free time, this is the job for you.

Pros

They advertise diversity. They'll hire anyone. Not necessarily a positive.

Cons

Inter-Con is a corporate shell game, where every spoke in the wagon wheel is responsible for a different facet of the business (hiring, training, payroll, etc.) and no one seems to know what they are doing. Every single employee I have worked with has had a pay discrepancy. Several co-workers were given insufficient quantities or ill-fitting elements of their uniform, and told to buy their own, if they didn't have enough. Several employees were charged for uniforms that were suppose to be free. Inter-Con has spent months refusing to meet with our union, (because they have been running roughshod over the tentative contractual agreement in place) Inter-Con constantly hires new people, to cover shifts of full-time employees, so say goodbye to any overtime. Employees are being penalized by an arbitrary star system, which is suppose to punish unreliable employees, not tarnish the record of employees using a personal day, for personal reasons. Employees have been told that their excuse for missing work was not good enough. Every facet of what we do is organized by apps, and on cell phones. Inter-Con seems to have no sense whatsoever about the tasks and duties of an employee in the automotive industry.
