Pros
Coworkers were friendly and down to earth Some Good benefits, plenty of PTO, very good actuary study program, great on education for employees. Great learning experience to enter insurance industry. Low Stress work environment with good work/life balance Overall a good place to work.
Cons
High turnover. Was overstaffed by a lot, instead of overstaffing 20%, they should cut staff over time, and pay the staff more so you're left with more engaged & well-compensated employees, and turnover goes away. Instead they underpay, and keep hiring/overstaffing knowing people will leave & need to be replaced..doesn't make sense. There were layoffs that demoralized everyone. The best, most motivated employees seemed to leave for more pay, and many staff seemed content to just get by. Chipped away at health benefits. Eliminated profit-sharing, sharply increased rates on health insurance. No work-at-home capabilities. Promotional Raises were very modest. not a very social environment--people were friendly, but more so introverts so it was quiet.
