Thanks for your feedback, and agree that there are plenty of opportunities for skills development at Insitu Pacific, with innovative and interesting work. In relation to remuneration, Insitu Pacific undertakes an annual review of all salaries, comparing them against similar roles in the Australian employment market leveraging industry-leading data. We believe that current salaries are competitive against the market, and our employee incentive scheme and flexible workplace pattern opportunities like 9/80 work fortnights make Insitu Pacific an attractive place to work. The current organisational structure reflects an appropriate level of manager oversight for an entity the size of Insitu Pacific, with managers also responsible as key individual contributors who engage daily with customers and other external stakeholders to ensure the business continues to run in an efficient and compliant manner. We appreciate the feedback and will take it into account as we conduct annual salary reviews for 2018/2019 and continue to review the organisational structure to meet the changing demands of the business moving forward. Pros

Nice weather usually. Laptop and phone are provided. Salary ok. If you know someone on the inside, you're hired, Demonstrated performance in engineering not required! For those with integrity, actually this is NOT a PRO.

Cons

Cronyism, nepotism run rampant. Managers lack fundamental engineering skills and judgement. Extremely poor project management by people with literally ZERO ENGINEERING SKILLS or Engineering experience, quite unbelievable. As a senior engineering specialist in the aerospace industry for 30+ years, I've never seen or experienced such widespread incompetence in all levels of managers. Although I was given a significant amount of responsibility, I was not given the required authority to execute. Too much emphasis on DEI, resulting in hiring of unskilled workers while passing up qualified candidates. The jury is in: DEI hurts productivity, hampers career development, disillusions the experienced, qualifed and experienced people.
