Pros

Coming in the door as a new employee is great for about 3 months.

Cons

Doesn't believe in the managers or employees...they believe if you have the capacity then do the work. This belief comes from leadership. Leadership President/CEO has no tact and that same attitude oozes through out the company. Performance reviews are a joke. They/Leadership really thinks people are expendable. Loyalty means absolutely nothing at this company. They would rather hire outside and overpay. HR sucks!

Pros

After working for several, much larger insurance organizations, working at ICG was a dramatic change and exactly what I was looking for. The company is built on challenging the status quo in an industry that is prone to falling back on what has always worked - it's a breath of fresh air from that aspect. An emphasis is placed on you ability to contribute, tackle problems, and move initiatives forward and when you can demonstrate that you are adding value in this manner, you are rewarded for it. It seems like a simple formula, but I've been at several firms that couldn't pull it off for multiple reasons. I work daily with very intelligent people that challenge me to think creatively and dynamically about problems and then allow me the freedom to independently solve them. My tenure thus far has been a very rewarding experience.

Cons

With very smart people and a growing company, the work load can seem like a lot. It's important that you be able to prioritize and balance you commitments and not burn out. The expectations can be quite high at times, but never beyond doable. It's also a company which emphasis strong logical arguments and analysis as support - people may struggle if they aren't prone to supporting their decisions this way.
