But their sickness policy in the west midlands is atrocious. They have recently changed it to a 12 month rolling period, if you have 5 days or 3 instances of sickness then you get a formal warning. There is no wellbeing meeting inbetween and you get an immediate formal warning. This is not fair for individuals who have genuine sicknesses and are being penalised due to such harsh processes that have been put in place. The other thing is that long term sick individuals are not getting the same treatment and somewhat are getting away with it as no formal warnings are being added on to their records, this is not fair and if anything the same rules should apply. This is causing further stress to employees with genuine sicknesses and causing them undue stress. If someone is ill ,they now feel like they have no other option but to come into work as they have a unfair warning on their account already and feel bullied to come into work even when they are soo unwell.
