Pros
- Local people are hit or miss. There can be good people that will aid your work or advance your career. - Benefits aren't bad compared to others in the same industry.
Cons
- ALL (not an understatement) knowledgeable and experienced employees were laid off or left, leaving very little retention of knowledge or experience. Of all the leaders in S&T, they chose the all of the wrong ones to lead. - Never learns from old mistakes in the areas of lab relocation, reorganization, production, etc. - Don't like your boss? Don't worry. The company will reorganize every 18 months. - People lean, soon to be people anemic. - Purely focused on short-term profits, so management never considers customer marketing, employee marketing (people are assets to them), corporate image (does not pay its bills on time), future-proofing in personnel (see first point) or infrastructure (cut corners in building first, fill in later mentality). - Highly political. - Finance, sales, marketing is a mess. - HR is located on the other side of the country. - Company will skirt local laws.
