After acquiring a company, Idera may mention they have a "model" they follow. Here it is: 1. Go silent. When people start to complain, blame it on a spreadsheet error. By being silent, most employees will worry and start looking for new jobs. This way, Idera gets through attrition what most companies only achieve through layoffs. Occasionally have a meeting where you tell people how much you want them to stay, and then add, "But you're all overpaid so don't expect raises," or other such phrases that tell people you want them to leave. 2. Idera may make some quick changes to your product, but then it will sit unchanged for a long time. Only when the market demands a new feature will they spin up a development team of contractors that know nothing about the product. The feature will be added and the contract team disbanded immediately.
