Pros
The opportunity to work remotely
Cons
Sales leadership and management in this company is some of the worst I've ever seen and I think at least some measure of it starts with the CEO. It was clear from day one that he thinks he's smarter and cooler than everyone else and takes many opportunities to convey his "don't tell me it won't work" mantra. The reality is they buy companies and gut them. They outsource Dev and QA to India which has been a disaster but don't tell anyone it won't work. They jam their high-velocity sales model down everyone's throat who is left and it doesn't work... Most of the sales reps have so little knowledge about what they are selling and how to sell it they are incapable or unwilling to qualify an opportunity and waste massive amounts of time chasing things on a prayer that an order will come in and no one will listen to those of us with the experience. They are bleeding sales engineering staff because one will listen to them on how to solve some of the problems. If you do push back then, you're not a team player. I wouldn't even recommend this company to someone I strongly disliked. A rep told me one day that, "it pays better than unemployment" and that's about the only good thing I would have to say about this company. Horrible culture, very frustrating working with poor management and sales are in the tank. They are riding a wave of maintenance and renewal money and once that starts to dry up, and it will, they will pull the plug just like they have done with other products that they have run into the ground. If you accept a position in this company you'll regret it very quickly.
