Pros
My spa manager and coworkers we great. Good learning experience in an upscale environment. The products were nice to work with.
Cons
-You worked at scheduled times, but could not clock in unless there was a guest. You were made to clock out after your service but were pressured to stay in case there was a walk-in. -You were paid hourly, but again, you had to clock out all the time. You were also paid PART of the mandatory gratuity on the guests bill so the guests would never leave a tip. -The spa was so slow so you could never make enough to survive. -Even if you were scheduled to work full-time, you couldn't work enough hours to hit full-time consistently so you couldn't get insurance. -You needed a doctor's note to call out for any reason. -The best part... They made you clock out at the end of your shift, but made you take down the laundry WHILE YOU WERE NOT ON THE CLOCK. I did this many days. It was a pretty ridiculous. I saw so many of my coworkers leave, including myself, because it wasn't sustainable and the company really didn't care about the employees. I know now they've changed the work setup so I don't know how it is now.
